you might get dirty living on purpose

15 Aug

[read time: 2 minutes]

in the deepest quiet of meditation comes a deafening rapture
it begins as a point of light
roots inward, expands outward
precipitates toward concept, resonates with intention
creates a flow, an inspired stream of thought

then the cool water of purpose trickles over your toes and begins to rise
it sloshes over your insteps, kisses your ankles, and swells toward your calves
you smile inside: fully alive, deliciously aware, and juicily receptive

then just about where it begins to tickle the backs of your knees
you brace yourself… you resist…
you reluctantly step forward only to fortify your resist-stance
your eyes, now open, focus on survival
your hands grasp at a rock in the flow, a root along the bank, a branch above your head
knots, thorns, and splinters exacerbate a slipping grip

the dream, the heart, and the creativity have already joined the transcend-dance
the ego, attachment, and current perception fight the flow
but why? what is there to resist?

especially when truth is projected through inspiration…

so here’s the translation:
our divine gifts that we’ve been tasked to share in this life
can only manifest through our interaction with other people
the work we do to help and heal others are only reflections
we are always the ones being healed through our experience

the serene pristine vacuum of solitude is sterile

beauty happens when the lotus emerges from the fertile mud
divinity is found with stubbed toes and sore muscles in dirty, stinky climbing clothes
inspired next steps emerge as mucous and phlegm clears and body aches subside
purpose is realized when resources are spent and YOU are all that is left

so hold NOT to the thorny branch of the resistance hanging conveniently above your head
cast your eyes beyond the horizon to that point of light
the inspiration only you can see
use your innate talents and your in-born gifts to get you there

vast and endless the interconnected networks and experiences
the universe is a matrix of support and love

be yourself
do your best
live your purpose
you have everything you need
